another homecoming

mom confronted me with the ever present conundrum "if you're gay, and you like guys, then why the fuck do you want to dress like a girl. gays wanna fuck gays and normal guys want to fuck girls, so why?"

my dad's back from korea. oddly silent when confronted with my mom's complaints over my "lifestyle." ally or another obstacle?

drunk about to be divorcee gave me life advice at the coffee shop. "whatever you wanna do, you gotta go at it with all your heart." his wife is leaving him. they have an eight year old son. he just wanted someone to talk to, and so did i.

Last night, the fam skyped me. it was the most rejuvenating experience i've had since getting home.

mixin andre with juice, ya'll some damn fools

Coming Home

"My friend's brother went up North a few years back, right. And he was playing in the minor leagues for some shitty team. Well he rode that out for a good few years, but then he knocked his girl up and they ended up buying a house down the street from where his parents lived.

And my sister, she moved out to Washington for school, but she ended up transferring to UNCW her second year. Said she couldn't take it or some shit.

Me, I'm gonna stay right here. NC State is right up the road, got a homecooked meal whenever i need it. It ain't so bad a gig, and besides, if you ever do leave, you either come back a CHAMP or you come back a CHUMP

but you end up coming back either way."

loosely, a story told to me by a high school friend.

fuck that shit. don't know how much longer i'll be here, but in the meantime, i can at least enjoy the inspiration i get from downtown.
